A full-time blogger, Joe Jervis was looking to migrate from Blogger to WordPress to increase ad revenue, and frankly, leave a dying platform. His users are a very engaged audience so he needed to be sensitive to their reaction.
Migrations can always be tricky. Things can go wrong, especially the unexpected. Plus, the users always have the option to go to another site instead of JMG.
We prepped the users for the migration and told them when and how things were changing. The initial flip over to WordPress went smoothly except for a DDoS attack. Our strategy and tactics resulted in almost a three fold increase of pageviews to 4.1M. Revenue is up and net new users has improved month over month.
